Mika Tanner has informed Bilot’s Board of Directors that he is resigning from his position as CEO. The Board of Directors and Tanner have agreed that he shall continue as CEO until 1 May at the latest.
Bilot’s Board of Directors has appointed Ville Himberg as the new CEO, due to start on 1 July 2021 at the latest. Himberg joins Bilot from the technology company Reaktor, for whom he worked for the past 15 years in different expert roles; business development and finally as managing director of Reaktor’s Amsterdam office, founded by him in 2016. Before his tenure in Amsterdam, Himberg led Reaktor’s digital B2C services business. Himberg started his nearly 20 years’ career as a programmer at the Pohjola insurance company and at Satama Interactive. Himberg’s educational background is in forest products technology.
Bilot’s Board of Directors is confident that Himberg’s broad background in various domains of software development and business development provides an excellent foundation for Bilot’s next growth phase.
”Ten years as Bilot’s CEO will soon have elapsed and after careful consideration I have decided that this is the time for me to move ahead. The road we have taken together has been spectacular and we accomplished enormously. I would like to thank the management team and all our employees for their valuable contribution over the years. The company is in excellent shape and perfectly poised to accomplish its strategic objectives and I am parting in good spirits,” says Mika Tanner.
”Mika has done an excellent job during his long tenure as CEO, which was crowned with last year with the IPO on the First North Growth Market Finland marketplace of Nasdaq. I thank Mika for his solid and long-enduring contribution in growing the company and I wish him all the best in the future times. Bilot is starting a new exciting era with Ville Himberg at the helm. I wish to warmly welcome Ville to Bilot,” says Petri Niemi, Bilot Oyj’s Chairman of the Board.
”The well-led and profitable, but less known Bilot is in an excellent position to join the better-recognised players and achieve its 50-million-euro revenue target by 2024. The opportunity of starting as a CEO in such premises was one I could not resist,” rejoices Ville Himberg.
